I had a partner who had the idea that "however", when used for it's typical meaning, should ALWAYS start a sentence, and never be in the middle. I don't know much, but middle-sentence-however- almost-always is a S&W rule for goodness sakes. I took to not using the word rather than hearing the same "advice" over and over.
