I bought my everyday silverware at MCF, and then bought a case of it from some restaurant supply place (downside - I had to buy a boatload of teaspoons - maybe 24?) at a quarter of the cost.

ETA this link to the place where I got the boatload of my everyday flatware. SUCHADEAL!!
Sorta kinda on the subject, having never been married, I've never had the opportunity to beg people to give me stuff. I'm looking at a wedding registry now, and the bride and groom have registered for china with $22 bread plates. They're registering for $78 wine glasses.

My question is, did those of you who managed to score the formal china and silver and stemware from your friends, family and business associates actually ever use that stuff?
