Not really. You didn't destroy joy regarding actual events, or point out that a current contemplation of future happiness is futile and even stupid. At worst you made her feel a little silly, but since she has already copped to having referred to her husband as "Coltrane" when they were dating, and the daddy/husband thing has been done to death (Electra, anyone?), I have to opine that this is not your best effort.
