While I think that there is a great deal of validity to Flower's take on the popularity of classic rock, sometimes it just is a case of changing taste -- dtb of 2007 listens to A Night at the Opera or the Flash Gordan soundtrack with a different ear than she had in 1979. So, it's not too surprising that she likes Queen now, but didn't then.
In fact, there are a number of bands that I liked then and don't now, and vice versa. Here's a few:
AC/DC -- hated then, like now
Journey -- liked then (Infinity and prior), dislike now (all)
Ted Nugent -- liked then, hate now
Earth Wind & Fire -- disliked then, like now
