I assume you are talking about the foam roller being used in a similar way to the bosu. I did just a Pilates class and since the studio's air conditioning was broken, we were in the main gym today and did all our work on mats using foam rollers and stability balls. The variations on plank/push-ups are killer on the foam roller. We also use them to warm up, just by rolling along hamstrings, quads, IT bands. According to my trainer, the roller breaks up muscle adhesions when used this way.

Last summer, I did a number on my IT bands walking down a mountain.
My pilates instructor had my on those foam rollers for days afterwards, and they did seem to help.
2. on the yoga toes. When I wear high heels too many days in a row, they make the bad foot cramps go away.
