Well, I'm not sure it's as ironic as you suggest. With the raw organic material from ten thousand pancreata, you could probably fashion yourself a crude but workable kidney -- something that could get you out of the ice bath and on the trail of the bastards who slipped a mickey in your drink in the first place.
