who cares? is his point that I had a duty to announce when it changed? I felt I had no such duty.

What is so funny about you is that you purposefully continued to hold yourself out as a paralegal. It is you that has placed importance on being a paralegal because you have repeatedly said you were one well after you became a secretary. If you weren't somehow ashamed of it, you wouldn't have done so.
It's just another piece of the fatty puzzle that is you. And it is amusing. Your new title doesn't make you any dumber than you have been all these years, at least not in my eyes.
