My son asked me, at age 4, how his sister had gotten out of my belly. I said that the doctor helped her out. Apparently, not a good enough answer, as he questioned further. I asked how he thought she got out. He guessed correctly. Go figure.
The following year, he announced to a girl is his kindergarten class that when she grew up, a baby would come out of her vagina.
This led to the first in a series of notes from the teacher. Ahh, parenthood.

When my second son was born, my first was 4. As the birth approached, I decided I would answer all his questions truthfully, but only the question asked. I wasn't going to elaborate unless he asked specific questions.
He wondered how the baby would come out, and said, "Will it come out of your mouth?" And I said, "No." He didn't ask any further. I think maybe he didn't want to know the real answer.
