You're confusing what I said with the words Sebby tries to put in my mouth. If you look at what people like Kagan and President Bush said when they proposed the surge, you will see that what they said needed to happen hasn't happened. It would be silly to suggest that absolutely nothing good has come of the surge, so I won't. But by the benchmarks proposed by its supporters at the outset, it has been a failure.
