true story: a client's sales staff bought a lifesize cardboard MJ, you know $10 in a store. they used it to show that a product it sold was 7 feet tall, by standing the MJ cutout in the product. they did this at 2 one-day trade shows.
a month later the client received a letter from MJ's lawyers. The letter stated a minimum endorsement royalty of $500K, time 2 for us.
We bounced it to the insurance carrier, and heard it cut a check for $750K a few months later.
