Those two have absolutely no shame, but this did make me think about something. Not that you would want to remake this movie, but if you did, who would you cast in the roles of Rick and Ilsa?
More often than not, Hollywood hypes the next up-and-coming star as the next so-and-so, but I am at a loss to think of any actors today who have the same qualities as Bogart and Bergman. Who do you think comes closest? I'm going to have to think about this one a bit.

The remake has to be a joke. If it isn't, then I really hope they do it so they can finally kill both of their careers completely and then we will no longer be subjected to their "acting."
Assuming it must be done, you would have to find actors who could carry off the combination of smoldering sex appeal and emotional reserve -- while being excellent actors.
Plus, they need to have a little bit of age and experience or else the story doesn't make sense.
For the male role, I am feeling Viggo Mortensen. Or maybe Jude Law, Linus Roache, Kenneth Branagh, Russell Crowe, or Mel Gibson.
For the female role, how about Diane Lane, Jennifer Connelly, Gwynneth could certainly pull of the emotional reserve, for Americans. Or, Sophie Marceau might be good.
