Not that this is particularly new information, but I felt it was important to remind people that I'm fully aware of my geekdom, before I gave the following link:

They are releasing the extended version of The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers in limited theaters before they release the final installment of the trilogy. The day the final installment is released, for the uber geeks, these same selected theaters are going to do a full marathon. Extended FotR, extended TTT, and premire of the Return of the King (regular version). I think that boils down to 11 hours of hobbits. In Houston, all of this will be on one of those IMAX screens.
