I actually asked him what the hell he wastalking about bc I figured it was the race thing (actually I had no idea bc it was such a bizarre thing to say) and what he said is that he thinks differnetly than most people. Like, you know, he is outside the box! Asshole thing to say, yes or no?
I feel guilty bc obviously he is ten centing me bc he wants to impress me. I think. This si why I am wondering if I am being petty or shallow, or if this is legitimately annoying. Oh and he asked to watch the game with me tonight. Like I am sitting next to a fucking southern accent for game seven after Bellie May and the southrner fried red sox gang last ngiht. Ditch him. Now. Not kidding. If these things annoy you now, it will only get worse later. At some point he will be relaying a clever (?) story to a group of people and will do the 10 cent word misuse and it will be all the worse for you. If you can't bear him one on one, imagine how grating he will be to you in front of others. Whether they realize he's a self-important buffoon or not.
If someone annoys you in a noticable pinpointable way during initial dates, something is wrong. That is the time you should be thinking about how great this person would be to kiss, fuck, etc., not worrying about whether you are petty for being annoyed with his pretentious habits.
