I actually asked him what the hell he wastalking about bc I figured it was the race thing (actually I had no idea bc it was such a bizarre thing to say) and what he said is that he thinks differnetly than most people. I feel guilty bc obviously he is ten centing me bc he wants to impress me. I think. This si why I am wondering if I am being petty or shallow, or if this is legitimately annoying. From your description, I'd cut and run. Asshole? Not enough information. But definitely an insecure dork. Who the hell announces that they think different(ly)? A dork, that's who.
