The thing is with this recession/non-recession is that it seems worse than it is. It's like cruising along the highway at 90mph, and then you reach a town and have to slow down to 55. It feels like you're crawling, even though 55 is still pretty fast. We got a little too comfortable with 6% growth and 4% unemployment, and now 2% growth and 6% unemployment feel recessionary, even though by historical standards the growth is decent and unemployment low.
