Since I tend to agree that "Fargo" was overrated, I ask you:
Which film comedies are underappreciated?
I'd have to say I wish "Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid" (1982) got more love, even if it was just from cult film noir weirdos.
I also think "The Tall Guy" (1989) sank too quickly without a trace, considering the fact that it has (1) some of the funniest inside jokes about the theater ever made, and (2) Emma Thompson's TITS. I imagine the moviegoing public couldn't see Jeff Goldblum in a romantic comedy so soon after "The Fly" and "Earth Girls Are Easy." Or at all. But it's worth it just to see the musical based on "The Elephant Man" (named, of course, "Elephant!").
