Maybe I'm going to the wrong supermarkets, but the regular price of a six-pack of soda exceeds $2.00 over here. Maybe it's the recycling deposit or something. Back when I bought and drank copious amounts of Diet Coke (meaning the ten years ending last month), I'd always get the 2-liter bottles. For Paigow, that's a good tip that you're in the apartment of a Diet Coke addict: mulitple 2-liter bottles of Diet Coke. That means they care enough about the beverage to price it and buy in bulk on sale.
Aside from that, there are some soft drinks that are going to cost some money. If it's July Fourth and you're having a barbeque with friends, maybe when you go to Beverages & More, you pick up a six-pack or two of the Henry Weinhard's Root Beer after you've picked up some quality beer. Similarly, the Hansen's Natural Sodas cost more than $1.50 a six pack, even on those rare occasions that they're on sale.
If you're a lawyer and having a party, for Heaven's sake, don't give your guests the store brand stuff. There's a vaild point of view that you should skimp on the fixins to afford premium liquor, but this is the Fashion Board, not the Law Students Board. Even Adder can afford to buy the Tostitos.
