Actually my dad's ashes were buried in his family's plot (above the body of his brother who died the year before, so he took up no space). Mainly I think so that people would have a place to go and feel like he was there. Fortunate because if they had been given to me, I'm sure that somewhere along the 20 moves since that time some unfortunate mishap would have occurred. He shares a headstone with his brother.
