 Talk me down, people, from buying $160 worth of stuff on overstock.com.  Granted, that includes a set of 600 thread count sheets and 14 DVDs, but (recite from card the Mr. gave me for just these instances) "even if it's a bargain, you're still spending money."
 
 Help, I'm out of control.  I feel a near overwhelming need to add "Canibal the Musical," too.

 Hold off on the sheets until you have researched them.  I can't find the link now but I read an article to the effect that not all super high thread count sheets are better/softer than 300 count sheets.  It has something to do with the quality of the cotton used and the length of the threads.  The price seems suspiciously low even for an overstock site.
You might be better off with 310 count Egyptian pima cotton sheets from a known manufacturer.
I can't say anything about the DVDs; a couple weekends ago I spent $150 on classical CDs ($3/disk -- how could I resist?)) at the estate sale of a wealthy couple who were patrons of the local orchestra and opera company.
