The first episode was ok. It was sort of uncomfortable to watch how uncomfortable everybody was around each other. There's no way the family should have given the girls chicken to eat after they threw the hissy fit about "dressing" the chickens. If they were going to play some vegetarian card, that would have been one thing, but not doing it because of some problem with dead animals means no dead animals for you.
I found both of them to be unbelievably rude. When the grandmother asked them to help her pluck those chickens, they completely ignored her and went inside, sat on the couch and left her outside. She had to walk all the way in there to ask them again. Bitch, get up and at least bring your ass out there and watch her do it.

Coming attractions: Little Ritchie sticks her arm up a cow's ass. They both scoop up some road kill. Now, why wouldn't they pluck some chickens? Are they really going to change that much over 30 days?

No. I think most of it is bullshit. Both Hilton and Ritchie know what the producers want and they're giving it to them. "What's Walmart? Is that where you buy Wall stuff?" Bullshit. I'm sure she knows one of the Walmarts personally. They're playing it up.

And the helicopter entrance at their going away party? The show set it up and tried to make it look like it's a typical Paris entrance. The shopping spree? I'm sure it was picked up by the show or staged. The dad reading a written list of rules? Please. Everyone in that house knows the house rules by heart. The show handed him that. Those were the show's rules.

Yesterday's show sucked for that reason. Ellis/Bunim usually does a better job of picking people, but this family isn't interesting enough and there's no conflict.

You (or bilmore) may ask, "What did you expect?" And that's a fair question. I guess I didn't expect much. But it better get better than this because if it doesn't, the audience is going to drop 50% after the third week.
