That show (1) still criminally underutilizes David Cross and Jeffrey Tambor; and (2) is the only funny thing Jason Bateman has ever done. And I'm including "Silver Spoons" in that, a show I loved at the time but which simply doesn't hold up in syndication. I'm just waiting for Bateman to be replaced by Alfonso Ribeiro.

And I like Arrested Development. Bateman isn't supposed to be funny. He's the straight man to everyone else in the family and he does it well. And they use Tambor just enough. The guy ain't that funny. The one guy who would send that show into cancellation if he left is Will Arnett (the older brother). He's very funny.
David Cross is only funny when he's writing for himself. He can only perform his particular, offbeat sense of humor and has trouble conveying someone else's. I understand the whole show is kind of offbeat and this is probably why they got him, but I still think he needs to do his own stuff.
