Your relative is a bad bad Dad. You should have told him that women love men who cook for them. My 14 year old nephew discovered cooking (of a sort) last year. He bought himself a deep fry cooker (I think he decided he wanted to have french fries whenever he wanted) and is the family fry daddy. This year for Christmas he wants a french fry cutter that will make narrow fries.
It's fun to watch him cook (he's made doughnuts and batter fried foods, etc.) because he is very very precise in measuring and following the directions. He was my sous chef for Thanksgiving dinner.
