This really is not a discussion for this Board.
Let's also clarify that I am only talking about my own kid(s).
When you have a child who can crawl -- or, even more to the point, toddle around -- you let them out of your sight at their peril. It inevitably happens to some extent, but it is dangerous -- particularly when they are 12-18 months old and thus can move quickly and climb up on furniture, but aren't all that stable and don't pay attention to little things like being on the edge of a seat -- or near the arm of a chair -- well off the ground.
The precise answer to your question is "No." But -- if I'm in charge and no one else is around to watch them -- they will come into the bathroom with me.
I expect this practice to stop at right about the time I can trust them not to die or be injured when not watched like a hawk at every moment. That, or age 12, whichever comes first.
