Usually I turn off the avatars, signatures, and images, which admittedly, sometimes makes the convo hard to follow especially when you factor in the number of people on my ignore list. However, after viewing the board with the aforementioned items displayed, they really don't add much at all to the board in the way of entertainment unless you have the mentality of a 12 year old (although at times they do make it easier to follow the convo).
