Lots of sketchy cars racing up and down the cross street in the middle of the night. Got reports from friends in Uptown and NE that displaced protesters and looters and whomever were pushed into their residential neighborhoods, and neighbors would start screaming at anyone who was in the street, and that seemed to work. Got some reports of attempted looting at the commercial nodes closest to me but that the attempts were disrupted by neighbors. But it is nice to not have the foul haze of burning buildings hanging in the air this morning.

It’s just surreal. You’re getting more actual shit than we are down here, where aside from the Friday night gas station fire, things are as quiet as expected, but I’m on night two of sitting on the patio with a baseball bat listening and smelling for trouble. Ana the shut is just starting in other cities.
Super thankful for neighbors, though, and the wife and I totally lost it telling Tiny she should go ask our (three years ago) Trump-sign having neighbors for help if she can’t fins us. Politics aside, they are caring people who love her (and the adult sons may not even share the stupid politics) but the idea she might need them to call the rest of her family for help, and that they’d gladly do it, is emotional. Especially when elsewhere we seem to be trying to start a shooting war over our disagreements.
