It’s not as much race as class... more accurately described as “economic value to the economy.” A retired hedge fund friend put it bluntly to me the other day: “Socially, it’s tragic. But economically, the poor are irrelevant.”
A lot of the poor are minorities, so add in racism and you’ll find poor minorities don’t count at all. Not in the least.
And in our society that has allowed market values and concepts to dictate social values, the poor are invisible.
But the serious money doesn’t stop with the poor. They don’t give a fuck about even the common affluent:

The people at the way top see division by race as a good thing. It avoids the poor of minority and non-minority background finding common ground and together seeking to put the serious money people out of power.
