My point was that I thought you were giving him (or the Boston board) too much credit. All the reports I saw had him weighing the benefits of Boston, Philly and New York. It was clear he wanted out of AZ.
So, do you think the board really had that much of an influence over his decision of Boston over Philly? Did Philly put together a good enough package to land him? Or is this all after-the-fact crapola he thought would further ingratiate himself to Boston fans. I'm impressed that he reached out to fans, but I am unconvinced that they were the ones who helped him make his final decision.
