I think they're just completely separate issues. He's a troll, but he's powerful; he's a pig, but he's got cash. I don't think it makes anyone appear less ugly--no-one's fooling themselves. It's just that they value the cash and status more.
The practical problem for the arm candy (aside from overcoming the nausea thing) is just putting on paper an agreement that will still leave one flush when the boobs drop and Ugly Rich Guy's moved on to the next bimbo.
