Nothing is perfect except a fucking plastic bag over the head. Gaiters will reduce the chances of spreading or breathing as will surgical masks, as well N95s. The degree versus viral load are what counts.

As I've mentioned, gaiters outside when there aren't many people around, surgical mask outdoors when people are around but I've switched to N95 indoors all the time now.
Today I had the entire damn Rockfeller preserve all to myself but I'm glad I wore a gaiter it was so bloody cold.
