I feel like the only reason to buy Thermador/Wolf/Sub Zero is for resale value (and obviously for showing off). Friends who have them complain about constant issues.
In contrast, a brand like Boston Whaler is totally worth the premium. Nearly indestructible and holds its value like a Rolex. Full disclosure: I want a Whaler.
