In running, while some people "break" a "long run" in to two separate pieces, it is almost universally considered better to run the whole thing in one piece to get the heart used to remaining elevated for a sustained period of time.
For example, there are benefits to runs of 5 miles in the morning and 5 in the evening (more miles, time on feet, etc.) but it is generally better just to run 10 miles in one fell swoop but if you don't have the time, you don't have the time.
Plus, you only have to shower once, like you said.

I like that I'm already warmed up when I get on the Peloton, but yesterday our internet was out in the morning, and so I rode in the afternoon, and I put in a much stronger ride.
