No idea. I must lack that gene. I like chocolate fine, but it falls behind fruity and/or minty desserts even in the world of sweets. And I can't even compare it to cheese, which will win out for me every time if put up against dessert. Leagl may be right that it is much like coffee or other substances with mildly addictive characteristics.
