As a result of Sherman's decision to punt, the Eagles were soon facing a 4th and 26 from their own 26. Therefore, I think it was a good decision.

Playing a zone D on 4th and 26? Bad decision.

Calling a QB draw on third and long when your QB is Favre? Bad decision. (This was the play that resulted in the 4th and 1).

Going for it on 4th and goal from the 1 while up 14-0 on the road? Bad decision.

You act as if it was a foregone conclusion that the punt would result in a touchback. It could have easily resulted in the Eagles fair-catching on their 8.

You also forget that Sherman was already 0-1 on 4th and 1s. If you think people are roasting Sherman now, just imagine if he had gone for it on the 2nd 4th and 1, not gotten it, and lost. Christ, they's be comparing him the Barry Switzer.
