Meryl Streep is a much better actress than her script selection would tend to indicate. Everyone fawns over her, but sometimes you just have to wonder. "Death Becomes Her"? "She-Devil"? "Defending Your Life"?
Yet she's the only person with range enough that you could actually imagine her filming the remake of "The Manchurian Candidate" at the same time as the Lemony Snicket movie. But you're just left to wonder which one of them is doomed. Sad to say, it's looking like Lemony Snicket will lose the lottery. There's a flick that should have been either (a.) animated; or (b.) a Tim Burton joynt.
BTW, Rowan Atkinson's agent is denying rumors he's been cast at Lord Voldemort (
?!?!?) in the fourth Harry Potter movie. Talk about a role hand-made for Christopher Lee.
