Yep. And not trying to be asshole or anything, but so are roles in productions about AIDS or the Holocaust, among other social or historical catastrophes... Do a fair job in such productions and some award is virtually a guarantee.

People are afraid to say they don't like "important issue" movies. I didn't like Schindler's List. I think Spielberg corned it up a bit. But who's going to say that out loud? You'll get a face full of shit from people who can't separate the movie from its subject matter.
