You shouldn't. But, I think it is quite rare (and I don't know why they say this because every time you turn around there is another unwanted pregnancy, but they do) that a woman can conceive so soon after being on the pill for so long. In fact, if you take the pill out of the equation altogether, it is rare for a woman to get pregnant right away. It's possible that she was exercising some wishful thinking -- that he would say that he was on board and her body would be that much closer to being ready to conceive. She probably got prego and it surprised her and then she didn't want to abort it.

Not necessarily evil and conniving. Just not so smart.
