First the don't bother with the downhill bike tour on Haleakala, which is probably the one you did. Far more worthwhile to get up just as early, go to the summit to watch the sun rise, and then hike into the crater for a few hours, rather than pedal around in the parking lot for two hours, waiting your your peleton's 5-minute slot to leave.
