Ok. How many?

It is one thing to make the argument that X is dangerous as a gateway drug. It seems to me that is the best argument you can make for it to be illegal.

Possible long-term effects? Ok. Let's see what evidence comes up (I don't think there is much conclusive evidence right now, but please, prove me wrong). And in any event I seriously doubt they could be as bad as those resulting from the use of alcohol and cigarettes.

X was initially used (fairly successfully, with supervision) as an antidepressant. There are even some psychiatrists who today believe that it would be helpful for treatment of certain types of patients.

It is, without a doubt, safer than either alcohol or nicotine. But the government wants people to worry about it, so they run ridiculous ads inferring that kids are dying from it. That is not true.

I haven't heard anything about the drug that NFH is discussing, and maybe kids ARE dying from it (I'll look into it). All I'm saying is I don't believe things that the government says about drugs in this country just because it is the government saying them. Our drug policy is a hypocricy-leaden mess.
