Heh. The most trouble I ever got in at school was 1st grade. Remember how at the beginning of school, each kid's parents needed to fill out an information card, mostly just with the kid's name, address, and who to contact in case of an emergency? My teacher left the room for about 5 minutes one day as most kids were playing with blocks and such. Being the curious one, I saw a stack of cards and thought they were vocab cards. Imagine my delight at being able to find out the middle name of all my friends instead!! I was on about the last case when she came back in the room, snatched the cards from my little hands and pulled me to her desk, soundly chastising me for snooping. (Um, you left them in broad daylight next to the guinea pig cage, sister! And I'm 6! What else should I do?)
I got in trouble (sort of) again about a month later when she told each child to bring in a book to read from home. I chose a biography of Sir Francis Moore (what can I say? My parents had an odd mix of books in the house... it was that or Pride & Prejudice). The teacher told me that I
could not read it, that it would be too hard and that I had to pick another book. I brought in Green Eggs & Ham, finished that in about 5 minutes, pulled out the biography right after and read it at my desk, too.
