For my mother's 50th, I flew in from Texas and flew my brother in from New York to surprise her.
I got in on the Friday night. My father picked me up at the airport, so we walked in around the time he would have usually arrived home from work. I walked in and she glanced up and said "hi, Eve." (She swears she just
knew I was coming.)
The next day, I picked up my brother and brought him home. She nearly fainted.
It was incredibly expensive, but totally worth it.
I also surprised her at the last minute on her wedding anniversary when I came back from law school.
