around 1940 or 50 there was a play and eventually a movie called "damn Yankees" about how the Yankees were too dominating. They didn't ruin baseball then.
What has ruined it is expansion of the number of teams beyond the talent pool. Back when there were fewer teams every team had a chance to have decent players at every position. now the Yanks ability to make sure they do just highlights the fact that most teams can't. What needs to happen isn't caps or other shit that doesn't work anyway (see LA LAKERS), what needs to happen is a bunch of teams should fold- then most remaining teams will at least have the chance to imagine they could be competitive instead of realizing in Feb. they ain't gotta chance.
