I received my green card yesterday. (It's actually more green-ish than green, but definitely not pink, as some fiendish souls led me to believe).

Anyway, in advance of this momentous event, last Thursday I received a "Welcome Notice" from the department of Homeland Security welcoming me *with great pleasure* to the United States. I thought that was nice.

On Friday, I received another Welcome Notice. Identical, except dated February 10 instead of February 9 like the first one.

Saturday I received another Welcome Notice. Yesterday, I received
two Welcome Notices. I know math is hard, but even I can figure out that's five welcome notices.

I completely understand that the Department might be excited to have me here in this country on an allegedly permanent basis. I'm excited too. But all this attention is a little unnerving.

I try to call them but all I get is a recorded message. Not very welcoming.
Save the extras. I know some people who've been having trouble getting one who'll pay big $$$$; especially if the length of your name is roughly the same number of letters as Abu Rahii Absolumantii?
