Compensation for Bar Advocates

You may know that the Legislature is considering two pieces of Legislation that relate to the compensation of Bar Advocates, House 1 and HR 4321. Bar advocates in MA are currently among the lowest paid in the country.

The various bar associations and the Committee for Public Counsel Services are advocating for a pay increase, the first in many years. The governor, on the other hand, has proposed a capped fee structure that will make the remuneration for this work even more pitiable.

Below is a link to the Bristol County Board Bar Advocates website which has more information and a comparison of the two bills. Please support your slightly less greedy brethren and contact your representatives and ask them to support HR 4321.
