New poll -- have you been Googled/been a Googler?

I've been tracked down a few times mostly for career advice. No teary reunions or anything.

I had a friend when I was in 6th and 7th grade with whom I got into all sorts of trouble, drinking, drugs, cutting school, vandalism, etc. He was probably my best friend actually. He was sent away to live with his dad and attend military school. We lost touch.

I googled him and found one address/phone number about a mile from my home (I was living in another state at the time). But his name is not uncommon so I was not 100% sure the phone number was his. I called the number once and listened to the answering machine and decided it was probably him, my long lost delinquent friend.

In the end, I did not leave a message and never called again. I simply could not come up with a way to say "I tracked you down via Google" without sounding like some freak stalker. I figured that as my name is almost unique, he could track me down if he had any interest.

I have lexus'd my ex-wife. Nothing too interesting there. She married the guy I thought she would marry and is living in a home of expected location and price. The only remotely interesting thing is she held onto the "Sandwich" name until she remarried. I.e., she did not revert back to her maiden name after our divorce. I know of no other divorced woman who held onto her ex-husband's last name. Divorced women usually can;t wait to dump their husband's name. I guess she figured she'd eventually remarry and it was too big of a hassle to change it.
