Hmmmmm.....let's combine topicality with summer -- how about Elvis (sorry PLF) Costello's "What's So Funny Bout Peace Love and Understanding?"; the Who's version of "Summertime Blues"; Van Morrison's "Moondance"; Bruce Springsteen's "4th of July, Asbury Park"; "Vacation" by the Go-Gos; Meatloaf's "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth" (aka "Hot Summer Night"); and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On."
I'm sure that I'll think of some more.
