Correct. The area is called "Little Egypt", and in fact has a town named Cairo, though it's pronounced Cay-ro.
You're thinking of either the Freeport or New Berlin (IL) Pretzels... Other personal favorites from IL include the Hoopeston Cornjerkers, the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes, the Centralia Orphans (the womens' teams are the Orphan Annies, I shit you not), the Polo Marcos, the Freeburg Midgets, the Fisher Bunnies (they sound tough), the Effingham Flaming Hearts and the Cobden Appleknockers.
