Some condoms are too tight, and inhibit performance for that reason. Perhaps Mr. Hand never experienced this issue. That may be the probably bl's hookup had, or maybe he was using this as an excuse, or maybe he was just so inexperienced in putting on condoms that he lost his hard-on.
I don't know if there are still condoms marketed to women, a phenom that existed a dozen years ago or so ("Lady Trojans", that sort of thing). Those were god-awful condoms that pretty much prevented any grand finale from ever occurring; they felt like fucking with an inner tube.
