First or second year, sitting in a setlement conference with GP Mc______, opposing counsel and a relatively new clinton appointed D. Ct. Judge, who had been a big Civil rights lawyer here.
she asks Mc____ what our client is willing to pay.Mc___ says "your honor, there is no liability, he should not have to pay"
judgie say "Mr. Mc___surely your client does not expect to get out of this Scot free"
Mc__" ignoring the ethnic slur, your honor,we don't believe there's liability"
after that judge was on our side- Yeah!
point is, be careful when you say scot free- it is an ethnic insult.

Dear misguided Hank:
The recognized origination of the term, which has nothing to do with an ethnic slur, but the non-payment of taxes (then known as a scot). It only takes a simple google search. Secondly, your GP took a stupid risk implying that the judge was using an ethnic slur. If I were that judge, I would have slapped that fool around.
The point is, don't get your irish up.
