Dude, they all fucking lie, all the time. Even worse - sometimes they are too stupid to just lie and be done with it, and have instead deluded themselves into believing the outrageous shite they spew. Which, for reasons that baffle me, appears to be more palatable to the majority of the public. They're almost as bad as the media.
Though I'm not sure what specific lie you are implying here. The "fuck you guys, you were mean and now I'm not gonna let you play with my new toy" thing seemed impolitic but pretty unvarnished and sincere.
