Comfort and because for many women, it improves the way your breasts look in clothes. Moreover, if you go braless in many tops, it is noticeable and generally not appropriate for work.
I know some women find it more comfortable to be without a bra, but if you get a decent fitting bra, for some of us, it is actually more comfortable. I agree if your bra doesn't fit, it can be awfully uncomfortable.
And it just depends on your breasts and the top whether you look bad braless in clothes. Some women look very pointy if they are braless. Not a great look, IMO.
